Air Force 1
Is rather large!

Weird that we never saw these kind of photos when the Chimp was in charge!

Or perhaps we did, and I just didn't bother the look.

Oh yeah, a funny music video about Bipartisanship made from some of the slideshow photos at the Whitehouse.gov site!

2. I am so happy our plane is finally occupied by a sane person.
There's something about Air Force One, isn't there? I'd love to fly on it. The President should run a lottery and allow private citizens a chance to travel along on the people's jet once in awhile.

10. I agree. The jacket is cheesy. I imagine the people in charge
of the plane order them up and I wish they could do something other than a jacket that resembles the Future Farmers of America jackets.

16. Me too!
I feel the same way. Not so much the jacket itself, but his name on it. I always thought the Chimp had it on his jackets to remember his name.

3. It's amazing all they can fit in there....
.... and on top of that, on some trips, Marine 1, "The Beast" (his limo) and several other limos go with him. (although I think on some trips that requires one of those hugs cargo planes.)

I'm also glad to see there's room in Air Force 1 for his new shoes. :)

12. IIRC, a C-17 flies ahead of Air Force One,
and that C-17 carries Marine One and Cadillac One, along with several other vehicles.

Edited on Tue Feb-17-09 06:50 PM by charlie and algernon
I saw a history channel program last night where they even flew in several tanker trucks loaded with fuel for AF1 since they couldn't trust the fuel in Africa.

6. The conference room on the air force one is even bigger
The plane, or should I say planes as there are two, have state of the art video conferencing on them, fax machines, internet, etc. Plus two beds! Its huge.

7. There was an awesome program on National Geographic channel about AF1 and Marine 1
If you ever get the chance do check it out! Even though * shows up a couple times and smirks around (I just roll my eyes now when I see that... am I getting soft?!), the program was worth it.

25. They showed most all the areas on that AF1 special
Freaking amazing to see allll those rooms..it was hard to remember that it was a PLANE. The kitchen area alone could have passed for a regular restaurant kitchen with all the equipment and kitchen staff running around in it.
One other news station had a video of it, also...theirs went a little TOO far, they **really** didn't need to have their tour guide open the SHOWER door so they could get a close up of the shower stall. Pretty much could have done a "there's the bathroom area" deal.

Not something I would purposely seek out or click on during that time frame. It was never a good thing when the first thing that came to mind was "that has to be photoshopped. UGH, please let that be photoshopped..."
