My letter to WhiteHouse.gov

Dear President Obama,

I am one of the many progressive voices that is beginning to wonder whether your pledge to be open and honest is nothing more than an empty platitude. How can we trust what you say when you are already maintaining secrecy at the expense of our constitution and placing someone "above the law", contrary to your campaign pledges?

Your justice department is claiming the same Bush "state secrets" in preventing justifiable lawsuits and now you are indicating that Karl Rove can break the law, not once but twice in the guise of a "compromise". What gives? This "big tent" of yours is beginning to not only exclude those of us who have been excluded for so long, but also the very nature of the laws of our land.

I hope you are not surprised that in your failed attempts to make new friends that you may be making progressive enemies.
