Senator Burris SHOULD have been Seated....Nothing has Changed in that Regard.
At the time he was appointed, we had no evidence whatsoever that there was any wrongdoing or questionable behavior. All we knew was that the Governor had the right to appoint a Senator, and he did. And without evidence of wrongdoing, Burris should have been seated, and was.

If we had known the information that we do today, I can understand fully not seating him. But we didnt, its as simple as that.

1. Yes, but the reason we didn't know is ..
it appears the main reason we didn't know the truth is he lied under oath.

He was questioned directly by his fellow Dems in the legislature about whether he had any contact with Blago, or a laundry list of his minions, including his brother Rob Blago.

Burris said no he had no contact with them.

Then, realizing that Rob Blago was probably being taped by the FBI too, quietly submitted additional material for the file hoping it wouldn't be an issue for a year or two. The state legislator who put his affadavit in her locked drawer for 10 days is now in trouble too.

2. And thats why I want him to resign, but to people saying "I told you so"
with regards to them not wanting him seated, I dont think we really had an argument to prevent him from being seated AT THE TIME.

3. I believe your take is exactly correct.
Burris should resign and allow the new governor to appoint someone else.

4. I disagree
We knew that Burris would be tainted. They had a right to not seat him. In fact, Reid said they wouldn't seat him. Then he flipped.

6. Because Blago was tainted.
So Burris would have very little credibility just because he was nominated by Blago. That was the point from the start.

7. Yup, even had he never talked to Rob Blagojevich
