If you oppose stimulus, don't take the money..says Paul Begala
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Gov. Mark Sanford of South Carolina took umbrage at my writing that his approach to the economic crisis is to do nothing. I'll deal with his "ideas" in a moment, but first let me make a modest proposal:

If Republican politicians are so deeply opposed to President Obama's economic recovery plan, they should refuse to take the money. After all, if you think all that federal spending is damaging, there are easy ways to reduce it: Don't take federal money.

Gov. Sanford can lead the way. South Carolina should decline to accept any federal funds for transportation, education, health care, clean energy or any of the other ideas President Obama is advocating to fix the economy. And the rest of the GOP can follow suit.

2. It sounds like a good idea...
But the constituents of those people will suffer if the money is not forth-coming.

Look at Ohio with John Boehner's opposition. The good folk of Ohio need those funds.

What about them?

7. Is there a way to
Impeach or recall members of congress? If so that's what should be happening. Get rid of a couple of those jerks who voted against the bill, and next time maybe some of the will think for themselves and not let the party tell them how to vote!

6. I agree with Begala
Let those republicans show the rest of the country how to solve the problems in their states "WITHOUT" the stimulus money! Since they say they had a "BETTER" plan, let them show the country by implementing it in their own states. Don't let them take only the money for their own pet projects and nothing for social programs, make it all of "NOTHING"!
