I'd say a little more outrage is warranted.

1. I am truly outraged. I see nothing from LULAC or Hispanic organizations in support of Solis

3. "Interest Groups Urge Vote on Solis Nomination, Though Questions Linger"
"Labor unions, women's groups and Hispanic organizations are urging senators to press forward with a vote on Labor Secretary-designate Hilda L. Solis, whose nomination has become mired in ethical concerns over her family's tax filings and her professional affiliations.

They are taking particular aim at Republicans, who seem to be in no hurry to approve Solis, a House Democrat from California."

5. Talk is cheap. They should be front and center with this nomination

4. Agreed
I can remember how pissy Bushco and the GOP always got when they felt that their nominees weren't confirmed fast enough and obviously they (and SCOTUS) felt like things were taking way too long to get resolved during the 2000 election. Where's the outrage on our end?!!
Also, has Obama nominated an FBI director and if so, who is it, and has he/she been confirmed? Are there some other cabinet positions that haven't been filled yet?

Seems like with everything going on the Republicans would want Obama to have all of his nominees in place so that they can get on with running our country. Oh, right. :eyes:

6. Solis is supposed to be the one of the first things
on the agenda when Congress reconvenes next week. It was listed as a priority right after the stimulus bill passed and just before the Senate adjourned for the holiday. There won't be any resolution to the Franken matter at least until the current court proceeding in Minnesota is concluded.

8. They let them hold a nomination like this. Will Obama ever get justices confirmed?
Weak ass Democrats in the Senate

9. Not if Senator Reid insists that 60 votes are required to approve Obama's nominations
That's absolutely false.

51 votes or a tie of 50/50 with Vice-President Biden casting the tie-breaking vote are needed to approve President Obama's nominations.

Reid says that 60 votes are needed even without a threatened, much less real, Republican filibuster!
