I wish President Obama hadn't said that at the joint news conference just held.

Has Obama given the Republicans, the mass media and right-wingers a hammer to beat him with, claiming "foreign" Canadian interference in U.S. elections?

I'm just a bit worried about that comment and how the mass media may go to town on it.

They hate "liberal" Canada and their health care system.

President Obama said: "I want to thank some of the Canadians who came over the border to campaign for me during the election.

It was much appreciated."

Need I worry or will this just pass with little attention?

donate. I tried to donate but was told I could not. Quite a few people from here campaigned for President Obama during and after the primaries.

17. It was well known that Canadians came to volunteer for him as well

as the English and Irish and I don't know who else. It was in their papers, it was in our papers. They weren't US citizens but that didn't prevent them from campaigning. They did it during the election cycle and it was widely reported and no one cared.

Are you claiming that I don't know difference between handing out a campaign flyer and making a financial contribution to a candidate?

DU campaigned for President Obama. One of the forms that campaigning took was soliciting financial contributions for Obama's campaign. So it's your position that raising funds for or giving money to an election campaign is not campaigning? That's a novel idea!

In any case, it's good to hear that foreign nationals are free to campaign for any candidate in the United States with the exception of making financial contributions and there was no need to engage in a smart ass remark "learn the difference" to make your point.
