Freeper thread: Where there any protestors in Asia for Hillary or Canada for Obama?
Posted on February-19-09 11:03:10 AM by SoFloFreeper

I am only wondering. Every time a representative from the Bush administration went abroad, the media made sure to tell us about protestors.

I was just wondering if anyone bothered to protest Hillary or Obama on their foreign journeys. Or is the media just not able to report them because their noses are somewhere where they wouldn't see them.

6. to be fair, I did see two anti-war signs
held by folks in Ottawa. They were mixed in with everyone else, and not isolated.

7. There was a very small protest in Indonesia
but it looked pretty tame - with signs that said something like Hillary No. Oddly the only place I saw it was on one the DU threads - that made the joke that it was nothing compared to DU during the primaries. Also, HRC is not the President - I don't recall huge protests overseas for Condi.

Obama has not been overseas (he was just to Canada today) yet.

You will never eliminate all the protesters - the difference is huge in polls - where Obama is liked and Bush had fallen to a very low percent approving.

12. Yeah, ever since that guy threw them at Bush.
It appears that shoes are flying all over the world at politicians. I hope that they learned to duck as dexterously as Bush. LOL!!

9. I protested Bush many times.
Usually with hundreds of other people, and it was NEVER on cable or national news. Just little snippets on the local news that always showed the seediest people in the crowd.

On my other sites that I go to, that are not political, there are lots of conservative Canadians. Even THEY were excited about Obama being in Canada. It was a big, BIG DEAL!!!

13. Yep.
Bush and his minions were ALWAYS met by protesters who were usually kept a long way away, and while local news sometimes covered the protests, the national media almost never did.

Back after Nixon left the White House, there was an exhibit at the Library of Congress of photographs taken of his various trips around the country. Apparently -- and I didn't see this myself but was told by someone who I consider a good source who did see it -- that often Nixon was met by protesters, and there were many photos of the same in this exhibit. That was definitely never covered by the media.
