Maddow Tonight - Great Response To GOP's Claim That Obama's First Month Is A Disappointment
Edited on Fri Feb-20-09 09:44 PM by Median Democrat
Maddow offered a great response to Republican claims that Obama's first month is a disappointment:

Maddow listed the various exective orders, appointments and legislation signed by Obama, and asked a presidential historian who has done more in their first month. The response is that no one since FDR's March of his first term. He also noted that FDR famously responded to activists who were advocating certain progressive legislation:

"I agree with you, I want to do it, now make me do it." Franklin D. Roosevelt
Comment to a group of reformers. His point: Until they lead the way, they shouldn't expect leaders to follow.

It was a good, fair review of Obama's first month. Sadly, we have to rely on Maddow, and not the mainstream media to get an accurate and fair response.

2. True In The Sense That RW Themed News and Radio Totally Supported Bush ...
...and agressively defended him against any criticism. Heck, I remember in Bush's first term, right wing types were gushing as to who was better Reagan or Dubya? In contrast, there really is no media outlet that supports Obama's agenda. It is either too much or too little, but one suggests that it is just right.

Put another way, there is no media outlet that is a pure Obama administration propaganda machine the way Fox was with respect to George Bush. Instead, even news programs that have a liberal tilt, like Rachael Maddow, are just as likely to criticize and attack the Obama administration as right wing themed news.

This is the great advantage that the Republicans have held. There is a remarkable level of coordiation between the GOP and right wing extremist media that Democrats plainly lack.

3. The repods lost the election and
they were disappointed and they will continue to be disappointed throughout Obama's time in Office.

And, personally, I don't give a shit.

4. I'll toast you on that!
:toast::toast::toast:

I love listening to them bitch and cry and moan -- it just means he's doing more and more right.

Instead of cringing when they scream "socialism!" I'm smiling...Bring it on, baby. Let's grow up, out of the cowboy phase and into the cultural phase of America's growth. I'm ready to leave the bullies behind in preschool.
