WASHINGTON – The Obama administration, siding with former President George W. Bush, is trying to kill a lawsuit that seeks to recover what could be millions of missing White House e-mails.

Two advocacy groups suing the Executive Office of the President say that large amounts of White House e-mail documenting Bush's eight years in office may still be missing, and that the government must undertake an extensive recovery effort. They expressed disappointment that Obama's Justice Department is continuing the Bush administration's bid to get the lawsuits dismissed.

2. My problem with the article is that there is not one quote from the
Obama adminstration regarding the emails or actual evidence backing up the story.

3. Umm, You Missed The Most Important Part:
"The department defends the government when it is sued."

They are doing their job. They are SUPPOSED to do this. It would innapropriate for Obama to interfere with an ongoing case at this point. The DOJ is supposed to be INDEPENDENT from the Executive. I know we're not used to that after 8 years of Bush's politicization. But if Obama inserted himself into this case THAT would be politicization as well (even though for a good reason).
