I don't care what your feelings are about the Treasury Sec'y, that's absurd.

No one knows what the silver bullet solution is with the banks. As time goes on, Geithner's slow-and-steady stress test approach is even getting some fans, such as Dr. Doom, Nouriel Roubini, who has been right about a lot of things so far: http://www.cnbc.com/id/29362429

In any event, this is Tweety and the punditocracy at his/their worst. Comparing Geithner to Barney Fife and cracking himself up (I'm just so gosh darned funny, aren't I) every time he does it, as he dispenses a totally nonsensical "solution" to our problems.

1. There's a FRONTLINE video out on the meltdown that talks in some detail about
Geithner's bona fides....it's no wonder that Obama chose him and stuck with him despite his tax issues.

2. I was actually shocked by that "discussion" last night.
Geithner has only been on the job 2 or 3 weeks? And they're already calling for Obama to fire him?? WTF?

5. Geithner helped cause this crisis by his lack of oversight over Citibank.
Edited on Tue Feb-24-09 12:45 PM by avaistheone1
Geithner is like Hank Paulsen. Paulsen played his part in this crisis by logging over $100 billion in debt when he led Goldman Sahs. Both are proven losers and insiders.

We have seen nothing from either of them that shows they can effectively lead on this crisis. By the way I saw Geithner's first day of testimony in front of Congress. He was pathetic and ill prepared. I guess he learned from well Paulsen. :sarcasm:

Did Geithner do any better in his subsequent testimony?

3. Tweety has got himself a new talking point (Barney Fife) and he is going to beat it as much

as possible even if it isn't true and is damaging.

Sometimes he is truly an idiot.

He gets in his Conventional Wisdom bubble with the Buchanan, Barnacle, Scarborough types and just gets himself convinced of crap that facts and polling will later show isn't what people truly believe or what the facts actually are at the time.

He is in his 60's and is focused on only the Stock Market as the arbiter of how everything is going - even though these are the fools that caused the problem and rally on the news that crushes Main Street. A longer term view is needed that isn't based on what the assholes on Wall Street think everyday. They want the taxpayers to take all the hits and bail them out for everything. It isn't going to happen.

6. I knew it was coming....Last week tweety made comments about
losing money and that Obama was scaring him...he was so concerned about HIS money. Whatever tweety! I don't have any money and I'm worried about employment. Nobody cares about your personal issues. What has it been? 36 days?

7. yeah
I am no big fan of Geithner, but the discussion last night on Tweety's show was absurd. Plus, it's obvious that Chris doesn't know what is going on with the economy and is just pissed because he is losing money.

8. He looks like a deer in the headlights
He is a fed insider. These guys are so deep inside this monster they can't possibly have a clue what is wrong, let alone how to fix it. He has his job, not to change things, but to keep them the same.

We need to understand who is running this country, and it ain't Obama.
