...
I was going to write a long summary of Atlas Shrugged and talk about how the contrasts from the theme of that tome and reality today.
But instead.... I will just conclude with Rand was an asshat.
That is all.

8. Dunno that it can be accurate (the lousy author part), |
|
as she's lasted as an American writer for quite a while.

9. I don't think it is the writing that has made her works last, so much as the content |

(not about her being an asshat) but IMO she was a great author. "The Fountainhead" was fucking awesome! So awesome, I read it twice.

6. I was more of a Howard Roark guy myself. |
|
All of the world: "you must do this."
Roark: "well.... i'm not gonna. I'm gonna have a sandwhich."
(The Fountainhead, as it might have been told by Eddie Izzard)

11. There's a great scene in Matt Ruff's "Sewer Gas and Electric" |
|
where Abby Hoffman's punishment in the hereafter is to try and teach Ayn Rand a joke. It's a sidesplitter.

17. Yeah, she's confirmed. |
|
But it looks like the film isn't going to be released any time soon. A lot of developmental problems.

18. Yeah. No matter how hard they try, it comes of as a comedy. |
|
In the real world. the 'John Galts' are the either the biggest welfare frauds or the ones stealing from everyone else, under the guise of an unfettered 'free market'.
I wish all those that think that the entire world revolves around their particular 'genius' would do as the Randians wish for and leave for 'Galt's Gulch'.
The rest of us who actually keep things going would be better off.
