Did anyone else hear Matthews acknowledge his "Oh god" comment?
Edited on Wed Feb-25-09 06:36 PM by eleny
Right at the start of the program earlier today he said something like many heard his comment when Jindal came out to speak.

It was in reference to the setting of the Louisiana governor's mansion and the atmosphere with the curving staircase in the background.

Sounded like Tweety found a way to make his slip sound okay because it was about the setting and not Jindal.

1. Please...it was right when Jindal was walking in....
The setting was in place for several seconds, almost 10 before Jindal walked out. It was when he walked out did we hear Tweety say "Oh God." it was funny as hell.

2. I agree with you... My point was that he owned up to saying it
People here wondered if it was Chris or Keith. I think what Matthews said at the very top of the program today settles it.

4. The setting was as bad as the address was..
Tweety had it right either way...

He did say "oh God" before Jindal was visible though so I give creedence to the setting being the reference though.

7. I thought it was as Jindal was walking out and came well into view
I'll give it another peek. :hi:

I kind of liked the setting, myself. Old historic houses like that have their appeal. :D

10. It was only a few seconds and possibly time needed for Tweety to realize the setting.

5. I only heard the recording once.
I knew it was Chris Matthews as soon as I heard it, no question.

9. I really did not think it sounded like him, but if he says he did it, he must'a done it.
But really...while it's amusing, it's not that big of a deal. He could have said it for any of a million reasons.

"Oh my God...I forgot to turn off the stove."
