Of course, she knows that. Ms. Bartiromo is on MSNBC railing against 'raising taxes.' Surprise, surprise!

From Why Barack Obama is Good for Business:

Barack Obama's tax plan will cut taxes to 95.5% of American families with children, and 81.3% of all households. Not only that, but it will cut taxes more than John McCain's tax plan for more than 60% of all taxpayers.

He would raise taxes on the two highest tax brackets (families making over about $250,000 per year, which includes 1.4% of small business owners, as well as some partnerships and Schedule C corporations) to 36% and 39.6% respectively, the same rate they were taxed during the Clinton years.

credibility. She should shut her pie hole.

On edit: I'm up to three now. They're bitching about AIG. I'm sure maria and dylan were talking up AIG on their shows.

4. I thought we went over the small business issue during the election
John McCain was always saying that Obama didn't care about small businesses. He complained about how Obama's tax plan was hard on the small businesses. Obama had to point out that only 1.4% of small business owners would have to pay higher taxes.

It never ceases to amaze me how many lies Republicans tell.

6. Even the wording "small businesses make" carries with it a lot of assumptions.
Edited on Thu Feb-26-09 06:48 PM by cottonseed
I think a lot of people associate "make" with revenue and not actual TAXABLE INCOME for the business. You can have $500K in revenue (see: make) and still be well under $250K in taxable income with employees, rental costs, depreciation, insurance, and inventory factored in.

7. The repugs are not ...
... remotely interested in protecting the so-called average middle-class business owners. It's just a tired, false GOP talking-point aimed at attacking Obama's tax plan. If the Obama plan had, say, $350,000 figure or actually any figure you want to name, the GOP would still have their talking points to attack the plan based on that figure.

How many times do we have to debunk the small business making $250K thing? Yet they keep repeating it. Goebbels couldn't do it better.

10. That's cause most of them are in that class
And their taxes should go up. I was thinking this morning in the public interest all journalists should be forced to publicly disclose their income!

9. REcommended. Democratic policies are BETTER for the economy and businesses.
Republicans consistently enact legislation which helps BIG businesses (the ones who pay lobbyists the most).

Edited on Thu Feb-26-09 07:55 PM by Phx_Dem
to worry about small businesses. Small Businesses are for losers because they don't have jets, right Maria?

Seriously, I read somewhere very recently that Maria has spent a lot of time getting free rides on Citibank's jet. Conflict of interest much?????
