5. This is so sad on so many levels.

These people are so sincere, and so wrong-headed. So misinformed. So provincial. So narrow-minded. I am seeing a bunch of simple-minded people from the sticks, some but not all of whom seem nice, who have strong feelings about matters they are nowhere near understanding (kind of like our last "president").

If this is the "real America" then we are well and truly doomed.

But when Obama made his little off record gaffe about "clinging to guns and religion" he seemed to specifically refer to a subset of swing voter (Catholic Rust Belt Democrats) he had trouble with in the primaries, and not to voters firmly anchored on the other side since 1980 or so.

Of course, that's all practical propaganda to them anyway.

Trying to make Chicago seem odious and out-of-touch elitist is funny, sure corruption is there, but doesn't it also have stockades, commodities markets (farming types rely on that) and good Midwestern folks?

And it took clip after clip, one right after the other, to drive it home even though I've heard it before was how nobody but them are, "real Americans." I have called McCain, Palin, W, Reagan, etc. every name in the book. My union-leading dad used to yell, "Lying bastard!" at Reagan whenever he was on television. But I've never heard anyone on our side make the claim that the other side weren't Americans too.

10. I didn't watch the whole thing yet but...

a lot of people really believe this shit they are talking about. Last night, I was listening to Ron Reagan and this woman called and said that she was going to fire 20 of her employees because she is angry at them because they are wearing their Obama buttons and she doesn't want them talking about Obama.

Some of these people are really and truly insane,braiwashed or uniformed. Some of them have never live around people of different cultures or nationalities so they believe anything Slannity,O'lielly and limburger tell them.

11. If you listen to their issues with Obama at each stop...

You can tell which RW talking point was being pushed that week, because they all repeated it nearly verbatim. It was all terrorist, terrorist, terrorist at one stop and then socialist, socialist, socialist at the next stop and then Hitler, Hitler, Hitler at the stop after that. Almost none of them deviated from whatever was being preached on hate radio that particular week.
