3. Interesting bit from the article-
"Currently only vacation properties, not primary residences, can be crammed down by judges. "

So, only people wealthy enough to have a vacation home are actually able to get their principle reduced by a judge. Who the hell made THAT possible?

15. The second home may be a source of income (as a rental)
If it is not, it will be unlikely (but not impossible) that they can keep it.

13. here is my contribution. and i sent to schumer and now on to gillibrand
and anyone else in my sights!!! grr...

For far too long we have watched as lobbyists gain access of our elected officials on behalf of, in this case, the banking industry and anyone else associated with mortgages, and influence the ways in which our government regulates and deals with issues like the housing crisis. Bankruptcy laws made it harder for people in distress to go bankrupt in the first place, and now lobbyists seem to have gotten you all in congress to put dealing with the mortgage modification as President Obama had wanted done.

So, here we are, the American people, left to tread water as you, as our representatives, do the bidding of the very industries that you are supposed to be regulating and protecting the American people from. The lack of regulations to oversee these industries have helped to lead to the mess many homeowners find themselves in today. And now, yet again, we have to sit and watch their bidding be done.... again!!

This is not acceptable! As a democrat, and a minority in the congress for most of the past eight years, you may not have been the main purpetrators of the legislation in favor of these industries, but you were there and followed along.

We voted for a change, and gol darnit.... There better be one. You are supposed to be working for US, not the banking industry. You are supposed to be representing the interests of the rest of us. Not the banks. Not wall street. And if you don't start representing the citizens here, don't expect much support when election time comes around again.

Thank you for your time.
