totally forgot about it......

By JONATHAN KARL and KAREN TRAVERS

Commercial airline travel, trips to the hardware store for nightlights and walks around the neighborhood – all part of everyday life these days for former President George W. Bush and his wife, former first lady Laura Bush.

In an exclusive interview with ABC News, Mrs. Bush said she and her husband were settling into a normal, post-presidency life at their new home in the Preston Hollow section of Dallas after spending a month at their ranch in Crawford while the house was finished.

Mrs. Bush said she has yet to cook a meal herself, because friends have been bringing over prepared dinners to welcome them back to town. The Bushes have had several large dinner parties with old friends, but they had to resort to borrowing furniture to accommodate their guests.

"We have very little furniture. We don't have a kitchen table or a dining room table," she said. "Friends loaned me a kitchen table and the other night I had 16 people for dinner and I had to borrow chairs from the Secret Service next door."

After years of having everything they wanted right at their finger tips, the Bushes are finding that sometimes the little things are the most difficult to get.

"The only thing we don't have are the newspapers. It has been slow to get The Dallas Morning News delivered," she said. "People bring the newspaper to us later in the day. It's just not being delivered yet."

Despite the lack of newspaper delivery at their new home, the former first lady said they are keeping up with the news back in the nation's capital but they certainly are not operating on Washington's clock.

In fact, Mrs. Bush said she did not watch President Obama's address to Congress on Tuesday night because she "totally forgot about it."

11. Classic...
The out of touch former president is still out of touch, and Laura has been out of touch for years on psychotropic drugs.

They purchased their house weeks before leaving the White House and still have no furniture or newspaper delivery? I knew newspapers wouldn't be a priority, but a KITCHEN TABLE! You'd think they were two kids that just got married and just hadn't found the time to go out and scrounge up one of those big wooden telephone cable spools for a table and some breeko blocks to hold up their book shelfs. Scratch that, I'm sure they don't have any books either.

These two are absolutely uneff'nbelievable. The former leader of the free world and his drugged up wife trying to set up housekeeping. It would be tragic if it weren't so pathetic.

15. i don't blame her, frankly......
she has had to sit in the gallery for eight state of the union addresses. I think if anyone deserves to not have to watch this year, she does. and if you think about it, after having to listen to dubya and live with him.... watching obama would only drive home just how much she settled for less. was she a teacher?!? and she is married to a man who repeatedly butchers the english language on a regular basis.

17. Well the truth is that Obama has been quite pointed in his criticisms of the last 8 years since
he bacame president and it's really not any doubt why they didn't watch it--it was because they didn't want to be reminded of the failure of his rein of error/terror.

use a phone? Geebus. I wish it were NOT so easy to get a paper delivered. I subscribe out of conscience to avoid them going out of business, but then they just stack up, since I read most everything online...

20. I call BULLSHIT on the DMN not being delivered
'Fess up Laura, you're hiding the papers so you don't have to cut out the articles that might intrude on chimp's delusions that the world has crumbled now that he is no longer President. Can't have him seeing any headlines how well Pres Obama is doing.

OH..and I guess reading the paper online-- www.dallasnews.com ---is NOT an option, since there is immediate feedback from readers in the comment section on all the chimp articles that have been written..and it's not pretty (for chimp)

Then there is Barney's known hostility to the press. Perhaps the delivery person has been run off by the killer hound of the Basketcaservilles?

off the back pages because it just exemplorizes the type of ridiculous and often mind boggling reports we've gotten over the past eight years regarding these two morons (bush* and pickles).

They had FOUR F*CK'IN YEARS to plan for a retirement home, and they are borrowing a kitchen table from a neighbor and still haven't had a newspaper delivered. That laura "forgot" to watch one of the most important speeches delivered by the new administration is not only newsworthy, but drives home the point of how absolutely out of touch these two idiots are.

Do they mean to make us think that laura couldn't have picked up the phone 6 months ago and called a designer to make ready a new residence for her and shitforbrains, knowing they would be landing back in Texas on January 20th, 2009? What about all their corrupt, crony friends that they turned into billionaires in Texas, couldn't they have at least provided a kitchen table and some newspaper delivery after all the profits and graft they benefited from after king george's reign of terror?

I was apparently more struck by this story than many others, but then again what more can be said about these two morons?

I'm all about turning the page, but every so often I have to pause and just make an observation before hurrying to the next chapter. These two idiots demand and deserve all the derision they get from here on out. They both disgust me.
