Obama calls Bush about Iraq war today
Just a courtesy call.

Flabbergasted, I am. I guess he's not gonna be much behind any truth commissions for the former president.

CNN) – President Barack Obama called former President Bush on this morning to tell him about his plan to withdraw troops from Iraq, the White House said Friday.

Obama called the former president “as a courtesy” right before his speech at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina, according to White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs.

Obama also called Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Al-Maliki from Air Force One to brief him on his plan to withdraw most troops from that country by the end of August 2010. The preident also “sought and received” an agreement from the prime minister that he would receive Christopher Hill as the next U.S. ambassador to Iraq.

On Friday, Obama released his plan to end combat operation in Iraq by August 31, 2010.

3. I just love it
when torturers, liars and thieves are given such courtesy. That Obama is so classy. He would have dined with Pol Pot and Stalin and told them he enjoyed it. And some Du'ers would have seen it as PROOF of what a great guy Obama is. Which reminds me-who is really pulling Obama's strings? He is not man enough to end the war on his own-he has to give props to Bush-are you shitting me?

6. And you clearly know nothing that Bush did
Edited on Fri Feb-27-09 05:33 PM by Generator
in the last eight years to this country and how many deaths he is responsible for, and how many people he is responsible for allowing to be tortured. (or you don't CARE-which is becoming clearer to me on this board-all the care about is Obama-not justice, not ending the war, not ending torture) I have lost faith in most on this board-the Iraq war was based on lies, our bravest continue to die and be maimed for those lies, and Obama is concerned with being nice to Bush. (or WHAT? He is concerned with his opinion on war-isn't that even worse-god help us)

I don't think this is Democratic Underground anymore at all. It is an Obama fan site-no matter WHAT he does, and calling Bush is meaningless really-it's what the meaning behind it is-Bush is forgiven and considered ON PAR with Obama. He is a legitimatize president who DESERVES courtesy. This makes Obama "classy." This makes this country hopeless. We cannot learn or change anything without acknowledging what went wrong so it doesn't happen again. Obama CLEARLY cares nothing about that.
