3. New Jersey (7.5%)
4. Maryland (6.9%)
5(T). Massachusetts (6.2%)

3. It either means
that the most well-off people in this country have no problem paying their fair share, or that there are a lot of folks who are pretty damned surprised right now.

You could look at that list another way. Generally, those are the states with the most disparity between the highest paid people, and the lowest paid people, and the latter category carried the state, to stick it to the former category.

4. Everyone I know who makes that much voted for Obama
And I live in AZ. I'm sure plenty of rich people here voted for McCain but Obama got a lot of support from affluent, educated people here.

5. I remember one of of the more articulate Conservatives, David Frum I think, writing
that People with education, and better incomes, are getting more and more disgusted with the Republican Party due to its flaming incompetence.

Here's a snippet

"A generation ago, Republicans dominated among college graduates. In 1984 and 1988, Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush won states like California, Pennsylvania and Connecticut – states that have been “blue” for a generation. (America’s least educated state, West Virginia, went for Michael Dukakis in 1988.)

Those days are long gone. Since 1988, Democrats have become more conservative on economics – and Republicans have become more conservative on social issues.

College-educated Americans have come to believe that their money is safe with Democrats – but that their values are under threat from Republicans. And there are more and more of these college-educated Americans all the time.

So the question for the GOP is: Will it pursue them? To do so will involve painful change, on issues ranging from the environment to abortion. And it will involve potentially even more painful changes of style and tone: toward a future that is less overtly religious, less negligent with policy, and less polarizing on social issues. That’s a future that leaves little room for Sarah Palin – but the only hope for a Republican recovery."

Looking at CPAC, it doesn't seem as though the 'Pukes are going to take the right path. Oh My.....

7. With a population greater than that of Wyoming, it's often listed as though it were a state ...
... in such surveys. This is news to you? (Wow.)

12. But SOME DAY they will be pretend rich and wanting to buy a pretend business that
pretend makes over $250K a year, and THEN they don't want that socialist Obama to raise their pretend taxes, so they voted for McCain like Joe the pretend Plumber. FOR REAL.

10. If you are making over 200k and looking out for your own interest
It makes sense to vote for Obama.

I am in CA, so under Bush we got the increased utilities and fuel prices much greater than the tax savings just like the rest of the Country. So right off the bat you raise the bar by 100k. Then you start thinking about 3k and Repuke policies and you add another 100k to your income. It is not until after 500k that you even can logically think screw everyone I want mine. I did this exercise in '07, got up to a million and still figured it wouldn't be worth it. Hopefully I get to make a million just to test my commitment.
