And could have been made more so had the photographer composed this shot better.
The curtains look like they are coming out the top of her head.
And while I like the rhythm of the white column out the window, her beautiful teeth and pearls and the how the flowers and table pick up the round pattern, it's off balance to my eye.
I wonder if it had been cropped.
But Michelle, no camera can do her justice.

But, I like the offbeat quality. It's almost more of a candid than a posed portrait. The bending rose obscuring her left hand is a nice touch. Gives it a casual tone, as if she just stopped to say something to the photographer. There is a fluid quality to the placement of Michelle in front of the drapes. A single, central straight line.

It's the opposite of a "formal" portrait, which is part of what made me flip when I saw it.

She is a stunningly beautiful woman.

beautiful inside and out and with the intelligence, charm and confidence to go with those gorgeous looks. Her husband and children are blessed with having her as a wife and mom.

She will really make a difference in the lives of women and girls as the First Lady. Looking at her during the address where the student was present, one can see how moved she was with having the student there, hugging her, etc. Another very proud moment in America's history.
