...either the toilets in their maximum security prison, or cleaning the bedpans in veterans' hospitals with minicams on it for the rest of their lives.

But I know what you mean. Obama is certainly the kind of leader who doesn't think in "high" and "low" terms, as to the status of human beings. He just sees human beings. And I could easily see him making such a gesture--or even more than a gesture, actually cleaning his own bathroom in the White House on a day to day basis, to make life easier for the staff.
