Lest we forget: A pledge
The forum seems filled with the exhortations from both the Purity Police and the fans of unfettered attack. Most of us fall at some point somewhere along the continuum between those two extremes. I guess you would put me a little toward the group that wants to tell our new president what we think. I’ve been attacked by the PP, and have had exchanges with a few. I sort of feel that one of the things I voted for was the chance to have my say.

However, we all need to take a pledge to remember one thing and let it be an understood part of any posting. The very worst day of the Obama administration is far better than any day we suffered under bush. President Obama’s worst mistakes and the foibles of his administration are still ten times better than the any decision or national direction that bush and his band of thieves and bastards committed us to.

So bless the PP. We will need them for the next election. Bless the cranky bomb tossers. They supply us with a far boundary. And bless our president as he attempts to undo the catastrophe that the neocons with reagan/bush/bush have inflicted on our country.

I will still have my say, but I have added a sig line that establishes my position.

1. I think everyone here likes Obama far more then Bush
And I think even those who criticize him constantly want him to succeed. :)

2. You wouldn't be able to tell from some of the recent threads
I think many just need to complain, regardless of who is in office but some of the threads I have seen lately don't seem much different in their disdain than before 1/20/09

3. Quite right, and well spoken.
I think Barack would be one of the first to bless dissent.

5. And his "bad" is better than it would be under anyone else...

.... that's MY main issue in regard to this whole matter.

The President is not perfect .... but I strongly believe he's a far better option than anyone else, on either side of the aisle. That's why I voted for him twice and fully intend to vote for him again.

6. Now you want to relive your
glory days of the primaries. You are entitled to your opinion, but these are the kind of things that just divide us. I wanted to unite us in something that we could all agree to.

I voted for him. I will again if he does a good job. As many here say when he is attacked - he's only been in office xx days. It goes both ways. He needs to get us out of war. He needs to get us universal health coverage. And he needs to get a handle on the economy. It's not his mess, but he's got the job. I happen to think that he would do better to stop looking to the people who created the mess to clean it up. He seems to listen to bad advice. I don't expect him to be a Nobel Laureate economist, but he could take the advice of one rather than the advice from the incestuous legion of wall street players who are doing the planning now.

No one said he had to be perfect. He's got a tough job. I think we all need to let him know when he is listening to the wrong people.

7. And if he is able to "get us out of war"...
.... then he will be remembered as the greatest human to ever live.

There will always be war ..... as long as there are men (yes, I'm putting this off on you guys) egos and land .... I would LOVE for us to all live peacefully with all mankind, but it takes two sides to do that.

I believe that our President strongly believes that diplomacy is the first and best option. But he and I are both pragmatists and we know that life doesn't always play out like you'd like.
