You can't sit back, even with those who are mostly with you, and let them alone. That is not the way Democracy works! There are people here that are well intentioned, but they do not understand this principle.

If you disagree with the president on an important issue such as Single Payer health care, stop fighting those who agree with you, but are upset and dissatisfied. It is that disatisfaction, when expressed by the people, that MAKES Democracy work throught difficult, but important, changes.

If you are having trouble understanding this, please read this excellent article by the Progressive which explains it.

1. Fight the people who actually oppose Single Payer
Not the President.

You want Single Payer - get 50,000 people in stadiums across the country. Fight for it and stop bashing people who are working for the steps towards single payer.

We're going to have an incremental withdrawal from Iraq, not "out now". We're going to have incremental changes in health care. How far they go depends on how well we fight corporate insurance, not how much we bash Obama.

2. No, we have the Presidency and both houses.
I might agree if we did not have the Presidency and both houses. Our problem is our representatives are not being responsive.

They know what we want, they know what the corporations want. They know what works and what doesn't work. And they know what is right and what is wrong. We have to make them do what they are not doing.

We may possibly get there eventually this way, but many will die in the meantime. It is better to make them do the best thing NOW.

4. Where are the stadiums full of people?
Go sell the program to the people and create the support. It shouldn't be any problem if the numbers are what you say they are.
