2009 President Obama out of the 'lower 48' Itinerary
I put together a list of all the places that I have read that President Obama has visited or will be visiting during Y2009. I am not standing by the accuracy of the notations, they are just tidbits that I've found on the web. If anyone has any additional info or corrections then please add it to the comments and I will update the info below. We gals over on a fashion blog are trying to figure out to which countries First Lady Michelle might be traveling with the President.

Unknown Islamic Capital City - 'major' speech this year
White House officials say they still plan for Mr. Obama to make a major speech to the Muslim world from an Islamic capital in the early months of his presidency, and they were quick to say that Monday's Ankara speech was not that. There will be another, they say, in which Mr. Obama will try to define, at length, his views on America and Islam.

Edited on Wed Apr-08-09 07:43 AM by Clio the Leo
I mean .... sure, we gotta tow party line that he was born Hawaii and has a birth certificate and all that, and then feign outrage at the Freppers, but I'm pretty sure Unknown Islam was where old Toot and Stanley grew up. :)

or something. lol

That's actually where surfing was invented. They brought it over here with them and baby Barack when they migrated illegally .... and all. :)

13. I had no clue - I was taking places off the speeches and press releases
I've been through Virginia once in my life and that was far too many decades for me to remember places. ;)

14. Just letting you know
Springfield would be considered the DC area. Heck, even the Pentagon is in Virginia. But then, I live in the area, so it is easy for me to say. :hi:

7. August
The Obamas are considering Martha's Vineyard as a vacation destination this August, the Boston Globe reports:
The White House wouldn't confirm the first family's vacation plans today, but word is the Obamas have rented a house for two weeks at the end of August in the East Chop neighborhood of Oak Bluffs.

On motorcycles.
With tents.
