Politico: Obama a huge fan of HBO's Entourage - watched Jon Stewart’s smackdown of Cramer

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0409/21010.html

Obama's TV: sports, surprises

President Barack Obama can’t stand to be without his “Entourage.”

Call it a guilty pleasure, or maybe it just rings familiar to him. The HBO series about an aspiring actor features a fast-talking agent named Ari, based on the real-life brother of Obama’s chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel.

For less R-rated fare, he tunes into “Hannah Montana” or “SpongeBob SquarePants” in the White House with his daughters. Aides said he would have watched Monday night’s NCAA championship on TiVo on his way home from Iraq Tuesday night.

Jon Stewart’s smackdown of CNBC’s Jim Cramer? Obama was eager to see it. But when it comes to the real news, and not the fake kind, Obama takes a pass — rarely ever tuning into 24-hour cable chatter or replays of his own performances.

“We usually tell him how we think he did,” said longtime friend Valerie Jarrett.

1. SpongeBob is gay propaganda.
Why does Obama want our kids to be gay?

kidding...

Actually "Hannah Montana" causes more damage to kids than SpongeBob could ever dream of.

4. Oh the episode where Patrick and Spongebob are Mommy and Daddy to a clam is gay?
Okay, it was a bit.
My kids love it and that is okay with me.
Hannah Montana...yuck. Thankfully they are too young to be into it yet.

8. I used to watch SpongeBob with my kids, before we moved and
didn't get it anymore on cable. We still quote the show, in my family (ka-ra-TAY). I really miss it.

12. Hee hee. Its something that as an adult I can actually enjoy.
Most kids programming is insanely boring or so incredibly grating. Nick is not too bad with some of its shows.

15. Wow!
It's beyond me how a sponge can be "gay", when they they're hermaphroidtes. Too funny! (I don't mean to be snarky. This invertebrate biologist just can't help herself.)

I love Spongebob, and I think it's GREAT that the President likes him, too. Even more, I would love some of what Stephen Hillenberger was smoking when he came up with that show and its characters. Heck. I'd just settle for a fraction of his creativity...

2. I watch Spongebob with my kids too!
Funny that he saw Cramer being handed his butt by Stewart.

3. My husband just watched the first Entourage series...
...and he was practically disassociating into the tv--he was so into it.

That show is total man candy--a big fantasy where practically every guy wants to be. Who wouldn't
want to be part of a group of guys living in Hollywood--where money is no object and whatever they
want is theirs? It's like average frat boys surrounded by everything they've ever dreamed of.

I found it quite interesting.

My husband is totally addicted.

Interesting that Obama likes it. It's quite edgy.

He also likes Spongebob too, and that's hilarious. I loves me some sea bears...

9. It's just a trifle
Not boring to me, but it's light entertainment. I enjoy watching it but then I don't really remember it after it's over.

10. He likes The Wire too. Guess who his favorite character is?
But some of Obama’s choices definitely have an edgier bent — such as the HBO drama “The Wire.” His favorite character is Omar, a gay stickup artist who steals from drug pushers to give to the poor. (“That’s not an endorsement. He’s not my favorite person, but he’s a fascinating character,” Obama said last year.)
