As for her personal skills and professional / academic experience, they are well known. Of course, Hillary could have continued on the legal professional route after graduating from law school and practicing for Rose Law but she chose parenthood and public service instead. Hillary's a proven "progressive" (though some may challenge that assertion) and, especially once the "politics" are removed, she would be a stalwart champion of the cause.

Why would we put someone who hasn't practiced law in years, and may have never even given an oral argument in the most important court in the country? Hillary is great but she is not superwoman. Leave being a judge to people with more relevant experience, like judges, con law scholars, or lawyers who argue before the S Ct. on a regular basis.

Earl Warren and Hugo Black, for example, were politicians - it is only in recent decades that the Court has come to be exclusively occupied by former justices and lawyers.
