Did anyone else just see Pres. Obama interupt Gibbs' Press Briefing
Edited on Fri May-01-09 02:12 PM by SamCooke
Awesome. He came in to announce he received a call from Justice Souter and talked about what he wanted in a judge. It was so unexpected, even Gibbs was surprised.

1. YES! He said, "Hey!" Walked right in and the press looked shocked! He's so
Edited on Fri May-01-09 02:15 PM by jenmito
funny and smooth! "If you wanna get something done you gotta do it yourself." Then he announced Suitor IS retiring. When he was done, he said, "Now you can go back to giving Gibbs a hard time" and then Gibbs said he had an announcement to make-that Suitor is retiring. The whole thing was great!

5. And what did the reporter say to Gibbs that had everyone laughing?
"I guess he wasn't in the vest today?" huh? Anyone catch that?

39. Of course...
.... yes, Gibbs joked earlier he asked around when he was eating in the Navy Mess (which is the West Wing "cafeteria" of sorts) to see if anyone had heard from Souter. The reporter then said the President "must have not been in the Mess..."

that was cute.

2. ha ha! And I was just kidding my mother last night who was watching "The American President.."
"Oh, the President doesnt burst into the breifing room like that!" as Michael Douglas does during the movie.

Pays to watch all of Gibbs briefings, you never know when something fun might happen! lol

(although that WAS a bit scary as I was just reading at Politico that the WH was on lockdown because of a suspicious package.)

11. oh god. Someone asking Gibbs about what Obama previously said about Roberts
and someone asked before about "empathy", because this is a bad thing to them I guess. Obama coming in was pretty cute, and "Go back to giving Robert a hard time", heh.

22. And did you hear the woman reporter on MSNBC talking to
Nora about "how exciting!!" it was. She was absolutely giddy, saying something like "this was the most exciting briefing ever!" ROLF.

It was kinda funny because she had been peppering Gibbs with questions about the fact that the President, reportedly, hadn't spoken to Souter yet. She was going on about "everyone in Washington knows about this, how could the President now have talked to Justice Souter yet!?" (paraphrased). Literally, 1 minute later in walks POTUS to declare that he "just got off the phone with Souter." Pretty funny!

Love him.
