Sheldon Whitehouse for president in 2016!!
I was just listening to him on Hardball, and I love the depth and breadth of his thinking. He reminds me of Obama in that his thinking is so clear and he presents his ideas with such clarity. I wonder if he would even be interested in running. We obviously need someone who is incredibly smart, and we all know what can happen if that doesn't happen.

1. President Whitehouse?
Who'd be his running mate? Senator Blairhouse?

2. I'm already on that bandwagen. Too bad Jack Reed can't be Veep, unless
he becomes a 'resident' of Wyoming.

5. FYI: he voted for the FISA bill.
I like him, too, but that vote muddies the water some.

8. But he's got an unusual name (Sheldon), and Americans won't vote for
a person with an unusual name.

You don't see Barack Obama in the White House, do you?

10. I actually wouldn't be shocked
Predicting who'll run for president in that cycle is trying to project a lifetime away, but you can sometimes come up with plausible lists just by running through senators and governors who look ambitious and would be between 6 and 12 years from getting elected to that position.

In 2016, he'll have been a senator for 10 years and he'll be in his early 60s, I believe. So he'd be well-positioned to run.

I could also see Sherrod Brown running (though I doubt he'd get the nomination, to be honest), Kirsten Gillibrand (if she can win her primary and survive this cycle), Lisa Madigan (IL AG and likely IL gov after 2011), Mark Warner, and a few others.

Like Dean and Obama. You don't see that all that often.
