Oh sweet Jesus; Limbaugh, "GOP leaders hate Palin" Cantor forced to add her to rebranding

GOP LEADERS BEND TO LIMBAUGH PRESSURE
AGREE TO ADD BATSHIT CRAZY TO REBRANDING FIASCO

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/

(CNN) – A few hours after Rush Limbaugh told listeners GOP leaders launching a Republican re-branding effort hated and feared Sarah Palin, House Minority Whip Eric Cantor announced that the Alaska governor had finally accepted an invitation to join the group.

On a conference call last week for the National Council for a New America, former Republican presidential candidate John McCain said he thought his running mate would probably be part of the effort as well — but there had been no immediate confirmation by her office.

The two groups of key Palin aides — those in the governor's office in Alaska, and at her Virginia-based political action committee SarahPAC — have often given very different messages on her participation with various groups: Congressional leaders and conservative activists have both announced Palin's planned attendance at major events this year after receiving assurances from one set of advisors, only to learn later from other aides that she hadn't yet made a decision.

The governor's decision to join the NCNA's panel of experts was confirmed Monday by spokeswoman Meg Stapleton.

1. PLEASE PLEASE let it be true .....
Sarah needs to be right there in the thick of it .... recalling her delightful campaign lines of 'He is a terrorist', so the crowd can scream in return 'kill him' ....

Just like the old days, Sarah .... Just like the old days ....

You can wax nostalgic in your blood dripping rhetoric ...

3. I'm guessing that this leaves McCain and Lindsay Graham cracker
off the bus... right?

I just don't see McCain and Palin ever sharing a stage again. Ever.

Palin joins GOP rebranding effort, Limbaugh says leaders fear her
(CNN Political Ticker, May 5, 2009)

At the (NCNA) group's kickoff event — a town hall-style gathering at an Arlington, Virginia restaurant — Cantor, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney urged the party to re-frame their message. Bush, in particular, expressed admiration for President Obama's political skill, and told the crowd not to get mired in "nostalgia" for past GOP dominance.

He mentioned no names, but Limbaugh interpreted that remark as a knock on Palin and President Ronald Reagan.

"Something else you have to understand is these people hate Palin too," the conservative radio host said Monday. "They despise Sarah Palin, they fear Sarah Palin, they don't like her either. She's, according to them she's embarrassing. McCain said, 'I was there with Ronald Reagan'…. No Reagan voter ever believed McCain was a Reaganite.

"And I think… a lot of this is aimed at Sarah Palin. When you strip all the talk — It's 'the Reagan era is over, stop all this nostalgia and stuff.' Clearly, in last year's campaign, the most prominent, articulate voice for standard run-of the mill good old fashioned American conservatism was Sarah Palin. Now, everybody on this Speak to America tour has presidential perspirations (sic). Mitt Romney there, he wants to be president again. Jeb may someday. Eric Cantor, some of the others, McCain — I don't think he does, but you never know. So this is an early campaign event, 2012 presidential campaign, primary campaign, with everybody there but Sarah Palin."

Limbaugh and the Sarahbots interpret any criticism of Palin, even imaginary, made-up criticism as seen here, as stemming from fear. How many zillions of times have I read "the RATs are terrified of Sarah" or some similar idiocy on Free Republic or other wingnut boards? Now Limbaugh has her fellow Republicans quaking in fear of her.

I smell Wingnut Projection Syndrome. Their fear of the truth causes them to smear anyone bearing it. When they hear (or think they hear) someone criticizing their St. Sarah, it never occurs to them that it could be because she is a worthless, silly tool. Instead, her critics must all be "afraid" of her. :eyes:

Funny, the same voices criticize Obama relentlessly. I wonder if they would acknowledge how petrified with fear they are of him.

6. You have to wonder, though
If this is a policy meeting, how many times do Republicans have to hear her talk, say "HUH??"
when they find that they haven't understood a word she said, and yet be forced to applaud, in
order to NOT be the first to shout that emperor has no clothes.

At SOME point, someone has to shout "that is utter nonsense!" and have the crowd finally admit
that they all have been secretly agreeing all along.

Again, Rushbo says "Jump" and the Repigs ask "How high?" They dare not disobey him, even if he insists they saddle themselves with someone who's only going to drag them down in the end.

As for us, we just sit back and laugh.

They were all ready to throw her under the bus until Jabba the Rush hit 'em in the ass with a verbal lightning bolt from on high.

I wonder if these silly sumbitches know how inept this makes them look to the 90% of the country that thinks that fat tub of shit is a joke.

18. Well, since this was an effort by Republicans to recast themselves as centrists
and not far-right, polarizing, hate-mongering, wedge-issue pushers, it's probably not to their benefit to have as one of their "experts" the one person in America who is the MOST emblematic of a far-right, polarizing, hate-mongering, wedge-issue pusher.

Rush demonstrates his complete and total control over the GOP. Really, really sad. :D

I swear to god, it's like watching a room full of ferrets all seeing the same potato chip bag at the same time, and now they're all jostling to get in it.

And once they all fit inside, we can take it back to the cage, and put them behind bars where they belong.

25. I don't think this was a "forced to add her" issue...
My understanding is that they had reached out to her earlier but couldn't get a confirmation. Sounds like the situation where the NRCC promised her as a Dinner speaker, based on a promise by her PAC people in Washington who didn't talk to her people in Alaska.

29. I can picture Palin's endless rambling acceptance on the phone:
"Hey Jebbie! You betcha, I'd love to run your new council. I think it should be called the:
New Intensive National Campaign Of Monumental Program Of Opportunistic Proportions!

You betcha, If we don't have an new idears, I'll look around for some and get em to ya!"

"I gotta go, My husband is showing me how to skin a moose and shave a beaver!"
