Ridge Listed Residence in Maryland

Political Wire has learned that former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge (R) listed his residence as Chevy Chase, MD on a recent foreign agents registration filing with the U. S. Department of Justice. He reported he was representing the Government of Albania.

If Ridge chooses to run for U.S. Senate from Pennsylvania, expect this to be a big issue in the Republican primary.

The latest reports suggested he would make a decision in two weeks.

Update: Politico reports that tax documents also show Ridge's residence is in Maryland.

He's pro-choice and not a total nut.

The GOP primary voter hasn't been beaten up enough yet to where they want to win more than to make a point.

1. I do not think that there is the same animosity against him as there was (and building) against Specter. From what I know, he was quite a popular governor recently, wasn't he?
2. Now that they have Specter on the other side, some Rs over there may wake up, and realize that they do not stand a chance with Toomey or whatever his name is, but they do stand a (good?) chance with Ridge.

Plus the GOP primary voter is predominantly anti-choice. Expect Toomey to make a big issue of that.
