2. They didn't go to dinner--that was an event to name the most influential people.
Mrs. Obama was the keynote speaker. She posed for pics with all of the Top Hundred.

The dress got raves on "The View." Of course, the View ladies were five of the Top Hundred.

Yes, they had dinner.

Specifically, they dined in the Allen Hall at the Frederick P. Rose Hall.

It's a beautiful place to dine.

:P

11. TMZ suggests it was an intimate dinner. Yes, dinner was served, but they weren't at
a wee bistro--there were several hundred people having dinner in the hall. The caption misleads.

17. See the other posts. They were having dinner--with a couple of hundred people.
There were ten people at each table. The way that shot is cropped, it looks like they're in a bistro at a cafe table all alone!

A bit less intimate:

Lots of people, lots of food:

19. I was surprised, too. She managed to keep her mouth shut--what a shock!
Joy Behar probably would have kicked the shit out of her if she tried anything.

12. Time Warner Center.
Jimmy Fallon hosted the TIME 100, a gala thrown by Time Magazine to celebrate its 100th edition of the 100 Most Influential People special issue. The First Lady, dressed in a black evening gown with black and white crystals, addressed the crowd before dinner. Celebrities, including Oprah Winfrey, Whoopi Goldberg and Kate Hudson, attended the event. Three different red carpets led the way to the main room inside the Time Warner Center.

Rose Hall at Lincoln Center, part of Time Warner Center. It's complicated.

15. LOL.
I think the picture did more to suggest an intimate dinner than the headline.

I was anything but intimate!
