Poll Shows Toomey Would Beat Ridge

One possible reason that Tom Ridge decided not to run for U.S. Senate is that he didn't believe the GOP polling that was done showing he would trounce both Pat Toomey (R) in the Republican primary and Sen. Arlen Specter (D-PA) in the general election.

In fact, a new DailyKos/Research 2000 poll to be released later today shows Ridge losing to Toomey in the Republican primary, 41% to 33%.

1. If Tom Ridge tells the peeps to duck tape themselves in the house

on election day....he could win this thing. I think the footage from his color coded games will put him under!

2. R2K is much more reliable than those two other Republican polls

Ridge is similar ideologically to Specter. If Specter can't beat Toomey, Ridge wouldn't be able to either.
