We may really want to give Specter back now
http://www.pamshouseblend.com/diary/10898/arlen-specter-finds-unique-way-to-raise-for-2010-reelection-bid

He TRIED to pull a "bait and switch".

Not a new concept? Check out this video and see the mechanism employed:

But as DailyKos has here with images of the "before and after" scrubbing of the site's page, the outrage level went high enough to cause the web admin to CHANGE the misleading message.
Now here's the thing: as the mom of an autistic child who has made incredible improvement for years of varied and intensive therapies, I completely understand the need for research and funding. Certainly all of Specter's laundry list of illnesses, ailments and conditions are also in dire need.

But the open handed begging off of my kid's circumstances and so many others to further HIS OWN re-election? I'm freaking apoplectic at the audacity, the sheer ballsiness, the NERVE.

It's one thing to say, "Re-elect me even though I just changed political parties; I have helped "x-y-z" groups in my many years of public service in the Senate and will continue to do so."

But it's altogether ANOTHER to essentially put up a virtual coffee can labelled:

"GIVE HERE TO HELP THE AUTISTIC, CANCER AND HEART DISEASE AFFLICTED, THOSE SUFFERING WITH PARKINSON'S DISEASE AND OTHER AILMENTS"

1. If he wants to call himself a Dem, he needs to behave like a Dem, and OUR job is to hold him to it.

And that goes, by the way, for _every_ Dem who calls him/herself a Dem.

Edited for crappy preposition.

2. I never wanted the sneaking, self-serving, little turncoat in the first place.
