That's very much an open question. In fact, IMO he's screwed up several times already- and may screw up royally down the line.

Given the current circumstances the country faces (many of which aren't under his control) it's not at all difficult to see Obama ending up a one term president.

Sure, anything is possible, but so far, the man has proven to have a bit of the Midas touch and even when things go awry, he rarely gets the blame for it. Combine this the GOP's seeming lack of an ability to come up with ANYTHING, be it policy or personality, well, as I seem to be saying on a daily basis lately....

and the corporate media's still there- still the same and waiting for the opportunity to tear the administration down.

Obama's having a honeymoon- which prior to Bill Clinton was the norm. As time goes on, and unemployment (and gas prices) rise attitudes have a way a changing. And that's assuming no major blunders.

In 1964, the GOP was in worse condition than it was today; in 1968 they regained the Whitehouse. So, a lot of these pronouncements are premature- to say the least.

They put caribou barbie in the VP slot last time around so they are bound to pull any stunt.

Then is was Eric Cantor's turn, but he quickly faded into the background with the other extremelist haters.

Now we we have Rubio. Any takers on how long he lasts?

The GOP needs to stick to the two people who best embody the character of the GOP -- Cheney and Limbaugh. They'll never find anyone else more closely aligned to their party than those two assholes.

Obama was never framed as the Next Big Thing for the Democratic ticket. As least, he was never framed by the Democratic Party. He just happened to be the right person who came along at the right time, and he had to work awfully darned hard to secure the Dem nomination. The GOP needs to quit mobilizing behind some one person (don't they remember what a disaster Bush II turned out to be) and just let things play out.
