Calling about 5000 DUers if you're out there--need some help here
I guy I know, a far right winger (a really nice guy in person, but falling farther and farther off
the deep end politically, though he's no fan of today's Republicans either), has organized a poll
on President Obama custom made for the radical right.

Trouble is, the results will be published indicating that America really thinks Obama is a socialist
or a "kommanist" or worse (in their eyes).

Please vote and show them that maybe they are barking up the wrong tree. Enough of us could make a
difference in their little experiment, like toss the planned-in-advance result out of whack a little.
Make sure all you do is vote. Don't end up subscribing to anything unless you are morbidly fascinated
by how these people think. I know Richard is not as whacko as many who post on his site, but he gets
mileage out of them (and makes money at it), and is nothing if not an expert manipulator--Frank Luntz
without 90% of the phony smarmy camraderie and PR shtick.

Please help toss a wrench in their planned results: http://conservativehq.com/active-polls/

1. Talk about a circle-jerk:
Thank you for expressing your views on how President Obama is governing our country. We encourage you to share this poll with your conservative friends by letting them know they can still participate in this important poll. The more people that participate who share your views, the more influence you'll have when the results are sent to news organizations and public opinion leaders across America.

3. What did you expect him to say?
"Post this on Democratic boards and show me up to be an obsolete right wing propagandist" ??

Unless your zip code identifies you as a progressive, we can blast his little circle of
"conservative friends" and crash the party. They forgot to lock the door.

7. I voted without filling in an email or zip
and apparently you can vote multiple times. Or at least it didn't give me any kind of warning when I voted the second time. What a joke.

15. Richard really believes a lot of his stuff
Edited on Thu May-14-09 12:26 PM by DFW
Not the Glenn Beck nut case stuff, but the far right part of it. I guess that's what
makes him OK for me. He's also perfectly polite and civil in the face of fierce
opposition in conversation , which sets him WAY apart from most of the right wing.
He's pretty smart, too, never underestimate him for his Corpus Christie drawl.

As for my friends, my dad was a hotshot Washington correspondent for 50 years, and
I got to know a lot of political types over the years. Among my friends, I also count
Howard Dean and Helen Thomas, among others. Maybe they start to make up for Richard?

13. I find web-based polls as useful as a solar powered flashlight
Edited on Thu May-14-09 12:21 PM by ksoze
and only of value to each beholder. They are easily dismissed if the results are less than wanted and also are used less and less by the MSM who know the blow back that comes from all sides when using them broadly. Not saying I won't help here, just saying...

14. I hear you
Even so, if enough progressives wreck their expected model, maybe they'll either not publish the results,
or lie about them, and not try it again, either of which will make their premise null and void, which would
be a perfectly acceptable result, as far as I am concerned.

Besides which, if solar cells can be miniaturized and their battery conservation capacity improved sufficiently,
maybe there soon WILL be solar-powered flashlights--in which case, they will be more useful than Richard's polls.
