Pres Obama - Hurry And Fix This Please!!!

With web-video & flash starting to be very bandwidth heavy (even YouTube & online news), the poor are becoming ever-isolated from their connection with news and political information. The very network of information-savvy resources that PUT President Obama in office are slowly leaving the masses who elected him behind. Did I say slowly - try rapidly! The rich are continuing to be informed and speak their mind, and the poor are left to read text files and some infrequent smaller posts that can run on their slower connections and within emails.

WE NEED OUR INFORMATION HIGHWAY UPGRADED FAST!!! The wealthy in this country continue to upgrade their faster connections and the poor do not - it is that simple. It would be no different than handing the poor in our country a set of newspapers with only a few pages and the comics because that is how severe this information gap is getting. I imagine that a good number of people on the Democratic Underground are unable to even watch videos as the files are becoming increasingly larger. As newspapers continue to shut down, this becomes even more critical.

Please Mr. President, if you value the great leaps made in the last 2 years of your campaign, do not let this increasingly rich v. poor gap of information and participation continue. Get those stimulus funds out there to upgrade broadband for everyone ... and please hurry. We are rapidly letting the rich and powerful set the agenda in politics again, and this gap will only widen as another year or two passes - especially with this economy and people disconnecting web access due to financial hardships.

Get broadband into the hands of everyone. A year or two in computers is an eternity of time and the Democratic Party as the most to lose on this.
