John Weaver: GOP "Headed For A Blowout" In 2012 If Cheney, Limbaugh, Palin Lead
Another leading Republican strategist has voiced concerns about the direction of the GOP.

John Weaver, a top adviser to Utah Governor John Huntsman, said this week that the Republican party is headed for an electoral "blowout" if it continues to be defined by "Palin and Limbaugh and Cheney."

The Washington Examiner reported:

"If it's 2012 and our party is defined by Palin and Limbaugh and Cheney, then we're headed for a blowout," says strategist John Weaver, who advised Huntsman and was for years a close adviser to Sen. John McCain. "That's just the truth."

18. Ya know,
That might make a good descant.
I was thinking of the old gospel tune (since the Rethugs are "Christian") "Just a Closer Walk With Thee", but descanting that on the end of the verses might not be a bad idea...

10. That could be complicated.
The GOP was not evolved, therefore it was created by God.

The GOP is failing, therefore God is failing.

But God is infallible.

Ah! But God has a sense of humor!

its not conservatism that is the problem, just as its not christianity thats a problem.

its the self styled 'conservatives' and 'christians' who are neither in principal or action that is the trouble.

17. +1

Indeed, one of the hallmarks of traditional conservatism was a reluctance to trot off on foreign adventures, and Bush gave us an entirely discretionary war.

22. Agreed, Conservatives act like it's still 1980 and the rich are still taxed over 80%
The #1 problem with conservatism now is it's failed to adapt to the times, it's still stuck on trying to solve the problems of the 1980's, when we're currently dealing with the problems of the 2000's, many of which problems were caused by conservatism over the last 8 years.

11. Therefore every democrat should make sure to slip one
or more "Cheneys," "Palins," and or "Limbaughs" into each and every sound bite. Sounds like a plan.
