Is FBI director Robert Mueller an Obama appointee?

WASHINGTON (AP) - FBI Director Robert Mueller says he is concerned that Guantanamo Bay detainees could support terrorism if sent to the United States.
During his appearance Wednesday before the House Judiciary Committee, Mueller was asked what concerns the FBI has about the Obama administration plans to shut the detention facility by January 2010.

The director said he was generally concerned about whether such individuals might provide financial support to terror networks, radicalize others, or even take part in attacks within the United States.

Mueller said he would not discuss specific individuals. He said there were also concerns about putting detainees in maximum security prisons.

The president can fire the FBI Director, just like the President can fire any member of his cabinet and the members of the Joint Chiefs.

7. Another "Cheney Stay Behind", perhaps? I listened to his statement and couldn't help but

notice a Jon Lovitz-ish sound to his voice. I'm not kidding.

8. Mueller is a longtime BFEE fixer - he was a US attorney tapped for BCCI and he couldn't seem

to find any crimes there to prosecute. Same with William Weld. Kerry did NOT have it easy, especially since powerful Dems in his own party were helping to protect BCCI crooks and to sabotage Kerry's investigations the entire time.
