What does *D mean?
Edited on Fri Dec-19-03 10:39 PM by mot78
I've been seeing this term floated around lately.

1. I heard it means comparing Dean to Bush.
Not very nice.

2. It's debatable
Edited on Fri Dec-19-03 10:44 PM by frustrated_lefty
but I suspect it means there will be an asterisk next to President Dean's name throughout history, and there will be a footnote indicating he reshaped the nation to make it more closely resemble the land described in the Constitution of the United States of America.

5. In some religions, it is considered bad form or blasphemous
to write out the deity's name in full. Those who use *D are showing the ultimate respect for *H *D. And He is certainly worthy of it!!!

15. That is right * Dean
will do nothing but lose for our country. He has the right wing against him and the DLC who I respect because of the ties with Gore. We have to vote in a more established candidate who has been doing this job for years. I think Kerry is the one.

18. Yep, I think I did too
Talk about a bunch of inconsiderate jackasses. It's almost Christmas and I'm sure the mods and admins have better things to do with their time then babysit a bunch of grown fools.

7. It's the same thing as calling Hillary Clinton, "Hitleray"...
Basically, shorthand for Right Wing hate speech.

8. Uh, why would (perhaps speciously) comparing the two...
Edited on Fri Dec-19-03 11:57 PM by mitchum
be "shorthand for Right Wing hate speech?" That really makes no sense.

9. I'll clear it up if I can...
IMO, calling Howard Dean, "*Dean" is the same type of dispicable smear as a freeper calling Hillary Clinton, "Hitleray."

10. It means there is a contigent of very nasty, bitter antiDeans out there
who are getting so exceedingly desperate in trying to smear Howard Dean that they are down to comparing him to Bush-hole.

Have some pity.

11. I'll tell you what it means
Edited on Sat Dec-20-03 12:47 AM by KaraokeKarlton
It means that the Moderators and Admins get to spend a Friday night just 6 days before Christmas fielding a massive amount of alert messages because a bunch of fucking idiot adults who need to be babysat don't know how to play nice. They could be at a Christmas Party or out enjoying the spirit of the holiday season, but NOOOOO...they get to break out the DU primary pooper scooper instead.

Okay, now everyone have a race to see how many flame baiting inflammatory threads you know you shouldn't be posting can be started in the next 5 minutes.

This shit makes me sick! :puke:

(on edit...I was so fired up typing this that I screwed up on wording. I did NOT intend to give hell to those who alert, but to those who are posting the stuff that gets alerted....sorry about that.)
