Since this Administration has no leaks, the detailed notes from today's meeting indicates clearly that tomorrow is going to be a big deal.

4. My hope is that he will somehow malign those who are responsible then if there's not going to be any

prosecution of them. I want them to be called perverts of the worst kind for their deeds, and for P.Obama to rip the old way as the actions of a regime that was hell bent on a malevolent religiosity that stained America and will cause us problems for decades.

I won't get that I'm guessing, but I'm hopeful. He is losing me. I want to believe the election rhetoric, but the centrist-right bend on several issues including continued warfare, backing the blocking of information, catering to corporate considerations and that they be involved in any decision regarding the massive debt/economy, and other issues has me very down and doubtful.

I'm not liking what I've seen - tomorrow could just seal the deal or answer a lot and help change many views.

7. What good is his commentary going to bring, more so, is this primarily about the Senate rejecting

his campaign promise to close the prison? I thought closing the prison meant letting people go free who had no proof against them that they were terrorists. It's as if these guys are permanent hostages. This carousel of shame seems to never end. Honestly, I don't see a wholesale change from shrub to President Obama's policies - I see a massive change in the appearance of an intellectually gifted gentleman compared to a brooding buffoon, but on matters of privacy, civil rights, warfare, detainee rights, and business issues - it's like we're still dealing with a right of center overlord.

I guess I have set myself up to be disappointed with President Obama. I was hoping to be very thrilled by what changes he would bring. For now, on some issues there's promises of changes in the future, and on others he backs the B*sh mis-administration on grounds of national security and I feel we may need a 3rd party if many of us are continued to be let down from him. I certainly won't vote for further right ideology by selecting Republican, but I believe this walk in the middle of the road is not a good solution either. Just my opinion, it doesn't matter for much, but it's what I feel.

We'll see if he can justify the positions he's taken, in the eyes of the "left", sufficiently to earn some patience from us.

Of course, a little action that didn't seem as out of sync with his campaign positions would be a lot more effective at quelling growing unease and distrust. It had better be one hell of a speech to make up for actions (& inactions) thus far... and some actions in the near future would be a politically good idea too, methinks.

Ironically, the Senate deciding to ram it's collective head up its ass today takes some pressure off Obama from the left... since cutting off funds does actually give him some cover for inaction. Some cover...

10. the Senate vote could be easily overridden by an executive order

Since he's so fond of his extended powers, he needs to use them for good instead of giving lip service to "rule by law" when it's convenient.
