Has anyone ever been to a max-security prison?
They make Gitmo look like a vacation at the Bahamas.

Let the real terrorists rot with the dredges of our society.

10. What we can say is that certain Repubs are trying to save
Bush and Cheney's asses.

7. I toured the women's prison of Riker's Island.
That was an education in itself. I was a law student and accepted an opportunity for the tour as I believed that to properly represent clients in the "justice system", I had to understand, even superficially, what prison looked like, smelled like, etc.

12. No but my brother is a retired Penitentiary Officer.
The stories he has told me would make your hair on the back of your neck stand on end. :scared:

He was not "an asshole" but would size up the Cons and communicate clearly with them.

One time during an uprising when the prisoners took over one cafeteria, my brother, without thinking walked in and carried out a wounded fellow prison guard. No prisoner stopped him. To this day, he says it was a combination of his past of developing working understandings with the population (he wasn't known as an authoritarian beater) and LUCK that helped him come out alive. :wow:

.... and he could kill just about anyone with his bare hands. He's a former world-ranked karate fighter. His nickname is "29 Counts" because he was once arrested on charges of 29 counts of assault against 10 police officers .... a charge be BEAT obviously.

He was one of the TEACHERS there. lol

.... and he gave me some of the worst colds I've ever had in my life. ha ha

14. I was at a federal facility today - they wouldn't let me take in chewing gum.

But your basic point, that they think anybody can escape one, is laughable.
