We are having a bi-state PROUD TO PAY OUR SHARE rally
Edited on Sun May-24-09 10:13 AM by proud2BlibKansan

We will rally in front of both of our area congressmen's offices to send the message that we are proud to pay taxes and appreciate the services they provide. We have several Democratic local elected officials who are speaking.

:patriot:

We are hoping this will be a great way to counter the tea baggers, who are planning another round of protests on the 4th of July. :puke:

If you haven't yet done so, contact your local Democrats and thank them for their work to bring tax dollars to your community and improve the quality of life for the people they represent.

:patriot:

And yes, feel free to borrow our idea and have a rally in your community.

:patriot:

:kick:

7. That's awesome. I had no idea Missouri was a bi state
Even in California, I think we only rank as bi-curious.

10. I could get on board with this idea, if only..
the money was going to help people rather than to bail out corrupt bankers and enrich criminal war profiteers. I pay my share, but I can't say that I'm proud of it.

11. One expression I wish Dem officials would use more often--
PUBLIC GOOD

Repubs and anti-tax people are all for public goods that benefit themselves; they just object to public goods that benefit others. Have kids in school? Taxes for schools are good. Don't have kids in school? WAAAAHHHHH! Socialism! Have a car? Taxes for roads are good. Don't have a car? WAAAAHHHHH! Socialism!
