Here she grills a government lawyer over the scope of executive power in Arar v. Ashcroft. The case involved a Syrian-born Canadian citizen rendered by the US back to Syria, where he was allegedly tortured and released after a year without charges.

deciding to rehear this case in December, 2008--the date of this video. If so, how did Sotomayor rule?
