POTUS Goes Out to Lunch at Five Guys
Edited on Fri May-29-09 02:05 PM by alsame
I just saw the end of the video on CSPAN - I think it was called "Five Guys", looked like a burger place.

I hope they run the clip again!!

18. Delicious....
just don't go in there if you are allergic to peanuts! They've got bulk peanuts served in there, with the shells usually covering the floor. Kind of like Texas Roadhouse (another one of my favorites!)

20. It looked like the Prez was eating some as he walked around
talking to people. I couldn't figure out what he kept popping into his mouth, LOL.

45. There was a restaurant in Chicago's Hyde Park, in the 70s with the same
"decor." Really strange when you first enter the place and you are stepping on peanuts shells.

31. Speaking of Gall
He ain't gonna have one (bladder that is) if he keeps eating at those burger joints..

Don't mind me, had mine removed and I'm jealous as hell, can't even Look at a piece of cheese now.. :)

39. You can't eat
meat or cheese any longer? Are there lots of dietary restrictions, or is this just while you heal?

Glad to see you here, symbolman. I read about your surgery, and hope you are doing well. :hi:

44. Some are okay, Definately no Beef tho
No milk, ice cream, little chocolate.. I can eat chicken all day with no skin, slight traces of butter, granola fine.. At this stage it's nothing that totals more than 15% fat content per serving.. Guess I'll make it to over a hundred at this rate, but I won't like it :)

Met a fellow bladder challenged nurse the other day and she told me it will all level out over 6 months to a year, except next time the stones are nearly IN the liver, and they take them out thru the Throat!! Ahhhh! So no Cheese Please :)

Thanks for thinking of me, I always enjoy your posts!

46. Only last week the local food critic preferred Smashburger
over Five Guys. Now they will have the last laugh, framing not a local food review but the best review of them all.

8. I love Five Guys
Burgers and Fries. Burgers done to order as you like.

The fill the cup with fries, put it in your bag and dump more fries in you bag on top of that. 3X more fries than I can ever eat.

Price is moderate as well.

28. Does Five Guys treat its employees right?
I ask for informational purposes. The "Five Guys" near me in Orlando was once a chain called Johnny Rocket's. An imitation 50's hamburger joint.

I found out from a waitress who held down three jobs, one of them there (as Bush says, "that's America for you," may he burn in Hell) that these guys shortchanged her on one paycheck and then skipped a payroll check for everyone there.

I wonder if these Five Guys people - assuming they are a chain - act any better to their employees.

37. the first five guys opened in the mid-1980s not far from where I live in Northern VA
They only had a handful of northern va locations until a few years ago when they decided to expand. Now they've got more than 300 locations. I was shocked to see one in Oconomowoc Wisconsin last winter!

Tasty.

Wonder which one he was at? There are several in Downtown D.C.
