...apparently this is better than Bill Clinton at this point in his term.

Question: if you had to guesstimate, what would you say Obama's approval rating is on DU?

9. The curious thing about this poll:

The Obama haters might select 80-100% because the "annoying ones" stand out to them.

The same effect might skew the way Obama fans might answer in the other direction.

It's hard to be objective, but when I sort threads by start time (which eliminates the attention getting factor) the percentage of threads critical of the administration is usually higher than supportive threads, but it also depends on what's the hot topic of the day.

Your question is about the percentage of DU members, which is a lot harder to measure.

On approval as a percentage of members, I'd guess 60-80.

On approval as a percentage of OPs, less than 50, maybe even closer to 30 or 40.

I think you're estimation might be somewhat accurate. I was wondering if DU was representative of Democrats that might take the poll, or if (as it seems lately), Obama is not quite so popular here. There have been enough "grading polls" IMO, I thought this sort of poll would be more interesting.

and that will depend largely on the outcome of legislative and administrative accomplishments more than hope and Bush fatigue.

Clinton did not get over 50% of the vote, so if his polling was less than Obama in his first 100 days, that makes perfect sense. If you remember correctly, Clinton, Bush and Perot were the hot contenders. Obama did not have to fight an extra candidate.

Let's see where he is a 4 years from now, then let's compare.
