I love it and hope it continues.
They have NOTHING to really complain about. All this false outrage makes them looks like idiots.
And no matter what anyone thinks, after bashing her and tearing her up for a month, once she is approved on on the bench she will remember that month forever! Which is a good thing!

1. I am appalled at the vicious racism and sexism |

And I don't think they even see it. It is so ingrained in them that they are blind to it. Instead, they see themselves as white men who are "victims" now and harp on that. I knew there was an undercurrent of racism and sexism in the GOP, but I watch them now on TV just slack jawed at their shamelessness.

they are playing to a crowd that laps it up. It really doesn't matter to them whether or not Sotomayor gets on the Court or not, it is enough for them to show opposition to her for their next set of campaign commercials.
They wouldn't sell this if someone wasn't buying it.

They're living proof that the Republican party has reduced itself to the base that are from the sewer. They have no personal limitations regarding what they'll do or say. The bar has been lowered so many times that it's ceased to exist and now anything goes.
Racism and misogyny and homophobia have always existed but people shut up about it because it wasn't tolerated. When someone was shown to be a racist even the media would go after them even as recently as the 'macaca' moment, but now the media gives pro-racism a lot of air time because it gets the high ratings. We have a diseased country right now. The cancer that John Dean said was in the White House during Nixon has now metastasized throughout the country.
