5. I don't know anyone who will ever be in that tax bracket
So I don't understand all those who will never pay those taxes continue to defend those who do.

13. soo many idiots want to defend low taxes on the rich because they fantasize about being rich someday
not only are these people without a plan for becoming uber-rich (other than powerball) but it never occurs to them that they're far better off arguing for better tax rates and programs for THEMSELVES, NOW, and *if* at some point, they become uber-rich, they can *THEN* argue for self-serving tax cuts for the rich.

in any event it's amazing how riled up people can get arguing about a 6% swing in top marginal tax rates. as if that really makes any material difference to ANYONE.

9. Back in the days of LBJ and Nixon,
a non-college educated Middle Class Blue Collar parent could:

*maintain a secure job with benefits

*raise and support a family in security and comfort

*buy a new American made car every couple of years

*buy and pay off a comfortable home in the suburbs

*provide GOOD health and dental care to his family

*take a real family vacation every year

*send his children to a State University where they could graduate debt free

*save enough to retire in dignity and comfort

ALL of the above would be possible today
IF we had a Political Party that represented Americans who Work for a Living.

"There are forces within the Democratic Party who want us to sound like kinder, gentler Republicans. I want us to compete for that great mass of voters that want a party that will stand up for working Americans, family farmers, and people who haven't felt the benefits of the economic upturn."---Paul Wellstone
