Sorry, I hate that term. It brings up 'bad scoobies' from the past, but...

Micheal Moore was right on with his article, and noting that many people with cell phones are not being polled. And somebody on AAR the other day mentioned that people responding to polls out loud over the phone in front of their families might be giving the answers that keep peace in the family. Hell, I could see people putting a Bush bumper-sticker on their car, because of where they live, yet voting for Kerry when they get to the polls.

Anybody seeing anything like this out there???

bush/cheney 04 sign or sticker. Have not heard one word of praise for the junta. Have heard rumblings of disapproval with how things are goin.

Silent majority is there and they are not pleased with the course they see America floundering on. We have to make sure the votes are counted accurately and that the neocons' efforts to disenfranchise big DEM blocks gets stopped. The nation belongs to the people and we will take it back. The neocons know they are losing and they will try to steal again.

3. Some anecdotals

The Bush wackos and Flying Monkeys are still backing Bush.

But I know several self-described moderates, and a couple self-described conservatives, plus two once enthusiastic Bush supporters, who have turned against him. They're not political animals, or activists, but they are all very motivated to vote His Chimperial Highness out in November. Why? A couple hard-working people lost their jobs. A few others figured out, in spite of Wolf and Judy and Paula's best efforts, that Bush lies about everything. And they are repulsed by the conduct of this fucking war.

4. GOPers, fueled by years of Lamebawl broadcasts, have

largely turned into thugs and bullies. I can see a whole lot of that stuff going on in some parts of this town, some braindead old fart bullying his family into mouthing support for Bush that will evaporate as soon as that curtain closes behind them in the booth.

The problem with bullying tactics is that they only appear to work in public. Once people get away from the bully, the resentment pops out and they do exactly the opposite of what they've been bullied to do. In the face of intense, nearly institutionalized bullying, you bet there's a new "silent majority."

And the polls will have a tough time picking up on it since so many are likely to be new voters.

I have no evidence to back this up -- it's just a hunch. But I do remember 1994, when everyone thought that it would be close, but that the Dems would hang on to the Congress. When the Repukes swept us out, nobody really ever saw it coming.

I was in Maui for my cousin's wedding. Turned on the TV election night, and my jaw hit the floor!!!

Went out and got sauced on Zombies that night. Became one, actually!

The only reason we're silenced is because the media is drowning it out, but anyone who turns off the TV and throws down the newspaper tod go out into the real world can feel the anti-Bush sentiment.

13. I am convinced of it.

A VERY silent group was the National Guard audience when Kerry spoke to them last week.

He made a couple of introductory light-hearted remarks (about losing your money gambling in Las Vegas) that were not clumsy at all, and there was dead silence.

It was the rudest thing I've seen in a long time.

There is no way that all those Guard people feel exactly the same way.

I'm betting that they were either told not to be enthusiastic about Kerry, or were just plain afraid to clap.

They were on TV, after all.

It was shameful.
