Now That's My President........
it took guts for Obama to come out and make his own comments regarding this Gates/Crowley situation versus having surrogates do it. He doesn't hide behind people to do what needs to be done. I respect him immensely for what he just did. He has taken the high road on this situation. I hope he is able to get to Crowley and invite him and Gates to the WH before the Repugs turn Crowley into a Joe the Plumber type figure. I like the fact that he considers this a 'teachable moment'. Let's hope all sides learn from this.

1. I like that he didn't retract his comments. Because they did act stupidly.

3. What did he say?
I've been trying to avoid the news laterly-too depressing and I get pissed off, what with all the Crowley-Gates and "birther" stuff.

7. He shouldn't retract nor apologize.
Every time some individual or group gets all huffy and outraged, Dem politicians too quickly backtrack and retract what they said, even if it was true and they meant it. Doesn't exactly send a message of strength and conviction. They need to stand by what they said, and not worry about everybody's allegedly hurt feelings. Obama should let what he said stand, and not make a further big issue of it.

9. I loved the 'teachable moment' line. That's exactly what this
incident should be. And he's the one who can do it.

I hope that meet-up for a beer at the White House happens.

President Obama handled this very well. And agree, this is a teachable moment.

Hopefully both will accept the offer.

President during the press conference. I was proud to see him take a stand and speak about the racial profiling abuses that have been going on against blacks and hispanics for decades. You only need to look at the statistics to see.

I felt for the first time to have a "voice" in the white house and that someone was speaking for me. At least in this situation.
