5. No, not imminent, but eventual.
I've already read many posts and articles over the past few years where the writer uses the word "loose" instead of "lose", or "to" instead of "too", because they have become lazy with their English grammar.

"I'm afraid of loosing my health care to."

6. I've noticed the growing inability of Americans to distinguish between homonyms as well...
That's not the result of internet-ese. That's the result of illiteracy.
