the way you asked that was obnoxious and shit disturbing. have a problem with us bitching about the giggling mass murderer?, have a problem that you can even compare the two men in any way?

as I said -----------------> walk that way, and stay there. this crap is getting severely annoying. I have no problem reading legitmiate criticisms but why people are allowed to stay here that consistently slam Obama and call him vile names of the sort I see here all the time, well, thats just nuts.

6. I don't believe he's attended any. But I do understand that he sends personal letters
to the families of those who have died, with thoughts he selects carefully himself, and he signs them himself.

Of course, I wouldn't expect him to attend the funerals. If he did, he would be so busy attending funerals and traveling he'd have no time for anything else. But a thoughtful letter that shows he doesn't take lightly the sacrifice such persons have made...I think that says something about the man.

No, he's not perfect. No, he hasn't done everything he's promised or suggested he would as yet. But I don't expect he'll have accomplished it all in nine or ten months.

The Iraq War was/is illegal and immoral. bush* jr. took the country to war based completely on lies and ginned-up false information. bush* jr. deliberately tried to obscure the human cause-and-effect of the conflicts he started. President Obama has done NO SUCH THING.

And finally, bush* jr. was the worst president in our country's history and a malicious little chicken-shit asshole, and to boot was not legally or lawfully elected EITHER TIME.

I also find it interesting that Obama never served in the Armed Forces just like *. No, make that * was AWOL, which is about the same thing.

Guess it's easier to call for other people to die when you never had to face the firing line yourself.

I think the fact that he is writing personal letters is a wonderful thing and is probably better than actually going in person, thought.

42. Thanks for
the breath of fresh air. Most of those who are calling for President Obama to attend the funerals of those who died in combat, are being disingenuous. A funeral is a private affair for the family and close friends. For any POTUS to attend an otherwise solemn and very personal ceremony, would turn it into a circus made up of his entourage of bodyguards, the media, protesters, and lookey-loos.

As a Viet Nam era combat veteran, I respect our President's decision not to intrude on our fallen comrades' final moments with their families and friends.

37. He's been in office only 9 mos., and he's been dealing with the 2nd Great Depression...
or rather, trying to avoid the 2nd Great Depression. An historical crisis.

So I guess you'll excuse his tardiness a bit, while he deals with the collapse of our financial system. Once he gets that on track, and the historical health reform, he'll probably attend a few funerals (if invited). Thus far, no one's invited him, that I know of.

Just as he put single payer off the table in health care, Obama put getting out of Afghanistan off the table.

It is his war. Those are the men and women killed and wounded under his watch.

45. He also said he opposed mandates when it came to insurance when I voted for him
if he changed his mind on that he can change his mind on Afghanistan (except there's defense contractors that will lose a lot of money if we get out of Afghanistan so maybe he is being consistant about what he does and doesn't change his mind about in a corporate friendly kind of way).

I get very tired of the attitude that voting for Obama was a blind loyalty oath and that voting for him means we're not suppose to question anything he does. Had I known that was the case, I would have voted for the Socialist candidate.

I understand your position, and I agree in part with it. But because it's YOUR position doesn't mean it's the position of the majority (it isn't). And Obama reflects the majority, for the time being.

When teh Prez attends, so does the media, lots of security, etc.

Clinton never attended a military funeral. I think Carter attended one, from a hostage crisis death, not a war. He attended only one, as a show of support. Bush never attended one, as you noted.

"Obama Heads To Dover Air Force Base To Honor Fallen Soldiers"

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama is making an overnight dash Wednesday to Dover Air Force Base to honor the return of fallen soldiers, absorbing the ultimate cost of war as the United States endures its deadliest month of the Afghanistan campaign.
On a clear fall night, Obama flew by Marine One helicopter directly to Delaware to greet the flag-draped caskets of those killed in action.
The unannounced trip began around midnight and was expected to have the president back at the White House before dawn on Thursday.
